Backbell is a portrait-first source-pixel recoil action game. The player never receives a movement stick: touch the visible bell ranger, aim one physical bellbolt, and release. The projectile travels forward while the complete ranger body receives an equal-direction opposite impulse. Every attack is therefore also a committed dodge and every dodge changes the geometry of the next shot.
