Information we collect

• Account information. When you sign in we receive what your chosen method provides — your email and password, your phone number (SMS code sign-in), or your Google profile (name, email, profile picture). You may also set a display name, handle, avatar, banner, and bio.
• Content you create. Prompts you send to the agent, projects, and the creations you publish, including titles, descriptions, tags, and cover images.
• Activity. Your interactions such as plays, likes, collects, remixes, and follows, and aggregate engagement on creations.
• Device & log data. IP address, browser and device type, timestamps, referring pages, and similar technical data, including signals used to detect bots and abuse.
• Cookies. A session cookie keeps you signed in; analytics cookies help us understand usage. See “Cookies and analytics” below.

How we use information

• Provide, operate, and secure the service and your account.
• Authenticate you and keep you signed in across 8x.gg.
• Display your public profile, creations, and engagement stats.
• Power core features such as publishing, remixing, and following.
• Measure and improve performance and the product.
• Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security issues.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described here:

• Service providers that operate the platform on our behalf — for example hosting and content delivery (Vercel), network security and bot mitigation (Cloudflare), analytics (Google Analytics), and authentication and SMS delivery providers. They may process data only to provide their services to us.
• Our backend service (api.paean.ai), which stores accounts, creations, and engagement data to run 8x.gg.
• Other users. Your public profile and published creations are visible to others (see “Public content”).
• Legal & safety. When required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users, the public, or 8x.

Public content

Your display name, handle, avatar, banner, bio, the creations you publish, and their engagement counts are public and may be viewed by others and indexed by search engines. Please do not include sensitive personal information in content you make public.

Embedded and third-party creations

Creations are user-generated and run inside sandboxed frames. They may process inputs you provide while playing. We do not control and are not responsible for the behavior of third-party creations or external sites they may link to. Use them at your discretion.

Cookies and analytics

We use a strictly necessary session cookie to keep you signed in, and Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings and opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s opt-out tools. Blocking some cookies may affect sign-in.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data as described below.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can update profile details in the app or contact us to exercise these rights. We will respond consistent with applicable law.

Children

8x.gg is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

International transfers

We operate globally and may process and store information in countries other than your own, which may have different data-protection laws. Where required, we take steps to provide an adequate level of protection for such transfers.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
