Sonic corre por dimensiones infinitas en 3D. Cruza anillos-portal entre el Nexo, Egipto, la Jungla Perdida, París, el imperio de Eggman y un Mundo de Terror con Sonic.exe, recoge monedas en tríos y desbloquea 17 héroes y 10 habilidades. Esta versión añade ajustes de jugabilidad: cámara que no atraviesa el suelo, calidad adaptativa para equipos modestos, pausa automática y arranque más tolerante.
