A one-drop roots riddim — kick, rimshot, skank and a nyabinghi repeater — is synthesized live in the browser, and every visual is a pure function of the musical phase, so the stelae breathe on the drop, incense embers rise and Ge'ez scripture orbits the sun of Zion. An interactive roots-reggae riddim and karaoke lyric stage for the song "The Sound of Aksum". The whole one-drop groove — wobbling dub bass, offbeat skank, a Nyabinghi hand-drum trio and a tizita-flavoured melodica — is synthesised live in the browser with the Web Audio API, while a reactive Ethiopian-flag visualiser (rising sun, spectrum ring, Aksum obelisk skyline) pulses with the bass.
