The beloved Italian trick-taking card game, you versus a thinking CPU. A 40-card deck is dealt three at a time and one card is flipped to set the **briscola** (trump) suit. Each trick, one player leads a card and the other answers — there's no need to follow suit. The **highest trump** wins the trick, or, if no trump was played, the **highest card of the led suit**. Winning a trick scoops its card points (Ace 11, Three 10, King 4, Queen 3, Jack 2 — 120 in the deck); pass 60 and you take the deal.
Breakthrough Remix
A modern abstract strategy classic (Dan Troyka, 2000 — a Games Magazine award winner), rebuilt as a high-craft template. It is **net-new** and, although it lives on a checkered board, it plays unlike any other game in the set: there is no connection, no placement, no captures-by-jump — just a sharp **pawn race**.
