John Scarne's pocket-sized strategy duel, you (cyan) versus a tactical CPU (rose). On a 5×5 board you each have four pieces. The game has two phases: first the **drop** — you alternately place your four pieces one at a time; then the **slide** — each turn you move one of your pieces to any neighbouring empty point (eight directions). You win the **instant** your four pieces form a straight line of four *or* a 2×2 square. No captures, no dice — just clean placement and maneuver, and the constant tension of two different winning shapes to chase and block.
